Year & a Half of Marriage

Yesterday marked our year and a half anniversary. Did we do anything to celebrate? Nope- we stayed home, I cooked dinner, and we watched some TV. Sometime it's just nice to just stay home and relax. However, I did get a little gift- not from Sam but from our wedding photographer. I got an email that stated that our wedding album has been posted on their website for anyone to view.

If you want to view the album- you can find it here! Have a great night!

Shamrock Check In - 6 Months

It's Monday, so I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I had a great time visiting with my family and I do plan on writing up a recap, but today marks the 6 month anniversary of Shamrock joining our little family. So I couldn't think of a better way to start of the week other then sharing pictures of my fur baby.

Shamrock has been a great addition to our family. And I don't regret choosing to adopt an older cat. Being that he's older, he is very chill.

However, if you are laying on the couch, you can bet your money you'll have his fuzzy butt sitting on your chest in no time. He's just attention whore.

Also he'll let you know what he wants. Like when he wants his belly rubbed- that's assuming you don't walk past him because he blends in with our wood floor.

Finally, I'm happy to report he hasn't had any seizure in a few months since he has been taking his meds on a regular basis. So even through he's a little more high maintenance then the other cats I've had in the past- he's totally worth it.

Happy Monday! Have a great week!

Hello from WA!

Hello from across the country!(Well it's across the country for me at least.) I hope you have a fun weekend planned. I was lucky enough to start my weekend early and got here on Wednesday night. I know I've been hearing about the delays at the airports but I was lucky to only have about a 20 minute delay because we were waiting on people from a connecting flight.

Being that I got in so late on Wednesday night, all I did was visit with family for about 30 minutes before going to bed.

Being that this is a short trip I'm really trying to make the most of it, and I started off my vacation right.. if I do say so myself.

This girl needed a little R &R, and what better way than a nice pedicure. It was fun because I went with the girls in family. For one of my aunts it was her first time ever getting a pedicure- now she knows what she's been missing out on.

After the spa, we went back to my uncle's house for some family time. Believe it or not, the weather has been super nice. I sat out on their deck for hours because it was in the 70's and sunny. Additionally, I decided to take in a bit of the beautiful nature that was all around me with a walk in the woods.

Other then the creepy homeless man set up we walked by and then promptly walked the other way from, it was a great adventure.

Once the sun went down the cousins (and one aunt & uncle) hit up the bowling lanes. It was the only place we could think of that we could drink and still be able to hang out with our cousin who isn't 21. It was a good time, and many laughs were had.

Well- I better get going. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

My Fittness Pal Check In

Hi Everyone! I hope you week is going well so far. I figured today was as good of day as any to let you know how my weight loss progress is going. I want to start off by letting you know when I first started using the MyFitnessPal app, I really wasn't doing it "hard core". I would skip days or not log in snacks, and I wasn't really worried about. Also, I had my cruise I went on within the first two weeks of using it. Vacation + All you can eat = weight gain.

After my vacation I came home and stepped on the scale to a new weight of 193 pounds. Needless to say I wasn't happy with that number. So I really started taking my weight loss goal more serious, and really kept up with logging my food in the MyFitnessPal app. And I happy to report that this was the number I saw when I got on the scale today...

In the 5 weeks since coming back from my vacation, I've lost 5 pounds. Now I know I could have lost more weight at this point, but I have my app set to lose a pound a week. So I'm right on target!

Before starting this "program" I didn't pay much attention to my food and only focused on working out- which wasn't getting the results I wanted. However, now that I've seen the scale move down every week since really starting to use the MyFitnessPal app on a regular basis, it has made me a believer that it does work.

Here is a screen shot of my 2 month progress...

As you can see- there was a gain at the begin of March (cruise food binging) and then a consistent lose since. However, this week is going to be the hardest. Reason- I'm going on vacation. Tomorrow I'm heading to Seattle to visit family and go to a party for my uncle. So my goal for this week to maintain my lose, and not gain anything over this vacation. Wish me luck. However, I'm hoping because I'm not a boat with an all you eat buffet 24/7, this vacation shouldn't affect my waistline as much.

I hope you all have a great week! And I hope to check in and let you know how my trip is going!

Sunday Funday!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I just wanted to stop in and share some of the fun I had on this beautiful Sunday! I started off my day by going to church to surprise my mom, but the surprise was on me because she wasn't there because she got scheduled to work. Oh well, it was a nice message so I can't complain.

After church, my next stop was to visit my dad at the Loin's Club pancake breakfast.

My dad was nice enough to buy me a ticket, so I wasn't going to pass up a free breakfast. When I got there, my dad was working the line serving up the food.

After breakfast, I headed to my friend Jen's house for some baby shower projects that we needed to work on. The first was a diaper moose. Jen found this online, and it's prefect because our friend Mike loves moose, so in turn his little girl will have to like moose. Here's how it turned out-

We even made the moose it's own custom onesie. We named her "Missy the Moose"!

Additionally, we also make a few custom onesies per my hubby's request. I think they turned out alright if I do say so.

After all the crafting, I went to the store to buy some groceries. That wouldn't be normally would be very memorable, but look what I did-

Well yes, those would be my keys sitting on the seat in my locked car. Lucky for me I have a very nice husband who came to my recuse. I mean, I did have our week's worth of food so he wasn't going to let that not have a ride home.

Once home, we had dinner which had been cooking in the crockpot all day-

Corned Beef and cabbage (not pictures) with potatoes. It's a repeat of our St. Patty's Day dinner, but it was really good so I thought it would be nice to do it again.

While eating dinner we got to enjoy our own personal entertainment thanks to our cat. If you like cats and the silly things they do, you may get a kick out of this.

Happy Sunday Funday! I hope you all have a great week!

Blog Anniversary & My 200th Post!

Happy Blog Anniversary to me! I can't believe I've been at this for 2 years now. And to make this post more special it's also my 200th post! (I may or maybe have been waiting to have these be on the same day/post.)

With any blog it's not just a walk in the park to do and that's why I wanted my 200th post to be about...

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVn87Jfiat0ws7lqpdqY9r25r16Q7iSq6zIyy0HIQUR6iFjir7toTRc0Wvwk8g9R5EGQwdv9CH6G8tEHupy_02Sh81qeQp9Aa31-ENrSu6DldWtS_TzF1hzCtUjtOA5VtI30WjGKOk-Wc/s1600/bloggingishard.png
First want to give props to Jasmine @ Jasmine and Sean because I totally stole this post idea from her but I think it's a good topic to cover at this point in my blogging career.

1. Blogging means putting yourself out there for others to view and judge.

When I first decided to start blogging, I did it because I thought it would be a fun thing to do. Also, I wanted to be part of the "cool" crowd and have my own piece of the blogging world. However, over time I realized that blogging means letting everyone know your business (or at least what you're willing to share) and in doing that you are allowing yourself to be judged by your friends, family, and even some people you don't even know.

I do have to say it sometime strange visiting with friends who I've not seen in weeks or months, and have them know what's going on in my life because they say to you "Yeah, I know. I read your blog.". That something I'm still getting used to.

2. Coming up with ideas about to write about.

I have a few friends who are great story tellers. They are always so details and just know how to really engage you in what their talking about, no matter what the subject. If I had half the craft they do for story telling, I wouldn't ever run out of ideas of things to write about. But I'm not that lucky.

For me, when I'm trying to figure out what to post, I normally just write about what's going on in my life. However, often times my life is just not that interesting. So then what... and there in lies the issue. Sometime (like today's post) I find ideas from other bloggers, and sometimes I just make something up. However, my main goal is just to make myself happy and share what I want to share. That's why you'll sometime get a old home video or a ton of photos from my weekend. This is my blog and it my memories I'm hoping to save, so as long as I'm happy with what I put out that's all that matters.
3. Time. It takes a lot of time to get all your thoughts "right", getting it all typed out, proof read (not my strong suit) and published. Sometime it's just not worth it.

I would say the amount of time to write a post does vary, but for the most part it takes at least about an hour to write a full post. So over 2 years (and 200 posts) that starts really adding up. I won't lie there are times I would like to blog about something, but I just end up not doing it because I don't have the time. However, that why when I do post something, I want to make sure it's worth all the effort. I want to make sure it's going make me happy and maybe some other people will get a kick out of it too.

Being that it's my 200th post I do want to thank some of my most faithful readers-

My Grandma! She is one of main reason I blog some days because I know she loves reading what's going in my life. And if my blog can make her day better, why wouldn't I post something.

My Friends! I know each of these girls has made it on the blog because the are part of my life. However, they also are some of the most frequent readers! I love you chicas!

And of course- everyone else! Without my readers, this would just be a boring online journal. I love sharing my life with all of you and I hope you'll continue tune in as my life is ever growing and changing.

Happy Belated Siblings Day!

I'm assuming that I'm not the only person who learned it was "National Siblings Day" yesterday because of all the Facebook status floating around. However, not to make my sister feel left out-

Happy Belated Siblings Day Karen!

Karen,

We may not have been BFF's growing up, but as we have gotten older we have really started to understand each other better.

You honored me by being my maid of honor. Also, you have always supported everything that I've done in my life.

And I hope you know that I'll always support you too. Your my sister- always have been and always will be.
Happy Belated Siblings Day!
Love~ Your Sis- Stacy

So in my quest to learn more about this seemly random holiday, I came across this website that lets you know what "holiday" each day is. Here are so highlights to look forward to...

Today- Barbershop Quartet Day!

Tomorrow- Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day

Monday- "That Suck Day" (seems fitting because it's on a Monday)

If you ever get board it is very interesting to just find out "what is today". I think it can make for a good laugh or maybe it will be an outlet to learn about something new or a reason to celebrate (Ex. May 11th- Eat What You Want Day! I'm totally in- I mean it is a holiday and all!).

Big Kid Jobs and Learning to be Domestic

Happy Hump Day everyone! We've made it to the middle of the week again!

Hope everything is going well in your lives. I know I haven't talking about this on here yet, but the Hubby started a new job 2 weeks ago. I didn't want to talk about it to much because it's not my new job; plus I wanted to make sure he liked it before I said to much about it.

So far it's been going well. He likes that he finally has a "big boy" job where he gets to have real weekends. However, it's been a bit of an adjustment- for both of us. First, being the very sweet wife that I am, I've been packing him his lunches.

This was his lunch for his first day at work.  It was like packing a lunch for school with a brown paper bag and all (because the cool kids don't do lunch boxes). However, in the last week or so the lunch have gotten more "grown up" with salads, dry fruit, nuts, and maybe one sweet treat. (May I add- I love the Glad Tupperware I bought because the dressing cup just hooks on to the lid. It's so convenient!)

I knew if I didn't pack a lunch for him, he would probably just buy lunch everyday and I don't see the point in spending money when we have food at home. So I've been working on my meal planning skills so I can get the most out of my food budget.

Also, now that Sam has his new job we are spending a lot more time together. Now we both have Saturdays off  which is nice. Also, we get up at the same time for work and we are able to ride together because I literally pass his job on my way to work (which is nice because we are saving on gas). So really the only time I'm not with him is when I'm at work, so that is a bit of an adjustment I'm getting used to.

I have to say life is really starting to fall in place for my little family. We own a house, we both have full time jobs, great family and friends- there not much more we could ask for. We are truly blessed!

Working Weekend

So you know you are going to have an exciting weekend when you pull up to your house on Friday night and you see this...

This was a weekend filled with a lot of work. However, I did convince the hubby to put off the house work on Friday night so we enjoyed a dink in our backyard before going out to dinner.

It was nice night because we got dinner with some friends. Note to self: Friends don't always understand why you are taking pictures of them and aren't always willing to play along. Nice face Sam!

After Friday night, the rest of the weekend was work, work, and more work.

Saturday- Worked a work event for 5 hours. Did a bunch of errands. Did laundry, dishes, and random house work.

Sunday- A repeat of Saturday minus the work event.

For the hubby- Yard work and more yard work. The deal is that Sam will deal with the yard and I deal with the house. Trust me I think I got the better end of this deal.

Can you say "lame" and "getting old"? Well, I'm currently planning more exciting weekend for the near future which will include out of town trips, visiting family, and spending time with friends!

Have a great week everyone!

April Fools!

Can anyone else believe it's April? What the heck... a quarter of the year is gone. Also being April 1st- it's April Fools Day! I thought about writing a gag post, but then I realized I'm not very creative. My best April Fools joke was back in high school when I told one of my friends that Sam and I broke up... needless to say she didn't think it was funny. So I figure I would share the funniest prank I was ever witness to...

May I present "The Foiling"!

I may have shown these pictures before (I really don't know at this point being that this is my 196th post) but I think it's was an awesome prank. Also, may I add no teddy bears were harmed in the making of this prank- Fuzzy Bear just got a new fun shinny outfit!

As you can see these pictures were taking awhile ago- during the college years- where and when some of our best stories happened.

My poor roommate Jen was the lucky one who got to come home to her whole room covered in tin foil.
There was her bed...

(Do you see the tissue box on the window? Awesome!)

There was her desser, TV, and the things hanging on her wall...

There was her desk and her chair....

There was foil, foil everywhere!

Now I know she wasn't happy about the prank, but what I do like about the prank- no one and nothing was harmed in the making of "The Foiling". It was just in good metallic fun!

Happy April Fools!
