MyFitnessPal Check II
So it's been about 2 months since I've checked in about my progress using the MyFitnessPal App. Last time I checked in the scale was at this...
I love that I'm still see that scale has been continuing to go down and MyFitnessPal progress report shows the consistent downward trend.
And when I got on the scale yesterday- this is what I saw...
And at this point- I had lost 5 pounds since returning from my vacation. Now that it's been a another two months here was the scale has looked since I last checked in...

And when I got on the scale yesterday- this is what I saw...
I won't lie, I didn't update my MyFitnessPal with this new weight (or even my 182.2) because I'm worried that it's just fluke and that number is really higher then what the scale reads. I know that's a little crazy but that's how I feel.
Last year in June, I was on a workout kick and I wrote this post about how my weight goes up and down so much day to day. For this reason, that's why I'm weird about logging my weight lose because I don't really trust the scale. Looking back on this post, I'm happy I weight less now than I did then. Do I realized that over a course of a year a lot more work could have been done, but now that I have found something that seems to be working, I hope the scale just keeps heading in one direction- down.

Riding Out the Storm
The titled of the post doesn't have any deep seed meaning but a literal meaning of- there is a hell of a storm coming our way.
I knew that a storm was coming this morning, so I made sure I brought my umbrella. However, the storm was predicted to be so bad that the university I work for closed at 5pm. I was excited because that meant I got to leave a hour early. However, you should have seen the mad rush to get off campus. The driveway to leave became a parking lot.
I made
it home with no problems, and now I'm going to be parked on the couch
for the rest of the night. I got two forms of entertainment for the evening-
1. The Hawks game! (I love me some hockey.)
2. My cat and his new laser toy we just bought him. (We should have gotten one of these months ago. He loves it- I think more than he loves us.)
I hope everyone has a save and dry night.

A Song That Has A Real Message
So I was driving home today from the gym and a song came on the radio. I had never heard it before, but the words were so powerful I can't stop listening. I even made it home before the song was over, and I had to let it finish before I got out. Most songs today are fun, dumb, or both. However, this song has a real message. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Weekend Events
Hi Everyone-
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Lucky for me this weekend wasn't spent on the couch like the weekend before was. This weekend I got to enjoy these things...

Sam did some of his fancy cooking and made a "strawberry bruschetta". It was made with fresh strawberries, fresh mint, a strawberry balsamic vinegar, and a little sugar. He paired it with toasted french bread and goat cheese. Like I said- fancy cooking.
Also this happen...

Saturday was so nice out that we had people over for a grill out and bonfire. However, the Hawks game was on and we didn't want to miss the game- so the TV had to come outside. It worked out pretty well.
Sunday was filled with... yard work. Boo...but we are finally done getting all the river rock out of our landscaping. This project has taken a few weeks, so hopefully by the end of next week I can finally show you an "after" picture of this landscaping project that has taken up so many hours of our life.
I hope you all have had a nice Monday, and I hope you have a great week!

Sick of Being Sick
Hi Everyone! I hope your weekend is going better than mine. I've been sick for the last two days, and I'm not feeling better yet. So lucky me- I get to stay home and not hanging out with any of my friends. Boo.. But I'm being good and I'm keeping my germy self away from everyone else. At least I got Shamrock to keep me company.
I'm following the rules for being "Sick101"- I've ate my cup noodles, I'm camped out on the couch, and watching free movies on-demand.
Being sick sucks! I just hope I feel better soon so my whole weekend isn't wasted on the couch.

Great Long Weekend!
Happy Memorial Day! I hope you got to enjoy a long weekend like I did. This weekend was another great one.
Friday night was pretty low keyed- it was my dad's birthday, so we took both him and my mom out for dinner.
Saturday was the most eventful day of our weekend. We started it off by continuing to work on the landscaping in front of our house.
Our project this week... getting the rocks out of our landscaping. The last people who own the house had river rocks in front of the house. Then they decided to expand the landscaping and they just put dirt and mulch over the rock. Let me tell you this has made digging holes for our new bushes very difficult. So Sam decided we needed to pick the rocks out of the dirt- we only got half way done.
I was excited I got to get out of the rock picking project early because I was going to the Sox's game with the girls.
We got to the game early to do some tailgating! This is my first time tailgating for any sport game, and it was a great time. The food and drinks is a lot cheaper when you bring your own, and it held off the need to snack when we got inside.
Just like last year- we went to the game because it was Jen's birthday. We got free tickets, we had the same great seats, and the Sox won! You can't ask for much more.
After the game, we made our way downtown to meet up with our friends Joel and Casey because they we're in town from California. These two were doing some wedding planning, and it was great to see them again.
It was great night. Sam was excited to hang out with his boys-
And I'm proud to say I lived it up like a true 20-something and we didn't make it home until 4:00am.
When you're hanging out with great people you don't get to see often, going home and sleeping just seems lame.
The rest of the weekend has been more laid back- hanging out at home, having a few friends over, and making some good food. All and all- its been a great long weekend.
